- Monday – Friday (4 clinic days per week)

- Accommodating backup call schedule

Position Summary: The purpose of Rural Health Clinic Services is to be the gateway for other healthcare services provided by Kearney County Health Services. Primary healthcare services are managed by the Director of Primary Care (Minden Medical Clinic, RHC). Primary healthcare services are provided by qualified Physicians, Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN), and Physician Assistants (PA) who are employed by KCHS to provide primary healthcare services.

 

The RHC Physician is responsible for providing high-quality primary care services by diagnosing patient conditions using, but not limited to, analyzing reports, test results, medical records, and immediate-family histories and including examinations to diagnose condition of patients and propose treatment options. Physician employment, and details of said employment, will be governed by a signed contract.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required: 

 

Provide full range of medical services to patients

  • Maintain office hours at the RHC which are customary within medical community to sufficiently serve the RHC patients
  • Provide services customary for Family Practice Primary Care Physician
  • Provide services to patients in need of Emergency Care and Diagnosis
  • Design, implement, and evaluate the quality of care for all patients and maintains documentation of clinical procedures and protocols
  • Maintain proper and complete medical and related records, on a timely basis, of services provided, as required by KCHS
  • Be a participating Physician in the Medicare program and be eligible to provide covered Medicare and Medicaid services.

Be a positive Physician steward of KCHS

  • Participate in professional organizations and programs if requested by KCHS
  • Assist in the recruitment of additional Physicians
  • Work cooperatively with other Physicians, employees, and other affiliated staff
  • Provide consultations when reasonably requested
  • Supervise non-physician personnel providing services within KCHS (such as medical students) and act as Supervising Physician for APRN’s and PA’s if reasonably requested by KCHS
  • Advise KCHS administration on equipment, personnel, and other matters of mutual interest

Participate in Quality Assurance measures and abide by Rules, Regulations, and Policies of KCHS

  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality assurance and/or utilization review programs, assuring compliance with and participation in such programs
  • Comply with all applicable written policies, rules, and regulations, and by-laws of KCHS
  • Hold a current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Nebraska and hold current and unrestricted state and federal permits to prescribe medications, including controlled substances
  • Seek and maintain qualifications to provide services which constitute covered services under plans sponsored by such preferred provider organization, health maintenance organizations, or similar alternative delivery systems which may be specified by KCHS
