Cardiac Rehab RN Director
Shelby Shannon has been part of the KCHS team for nine months, serving as a Registered Nurse in both Cardiac Rehab and Surgical Services. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Kearney in May 2018.
Shelby began her nursing career in the Intensive Care Unit at Good Samaritan Hospital before transitioning to the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), where she worked for six years. Following her move to Riverton, Nebraska, she joined KCHS and brought her critical care and surgical recovery experience to the team. Shelby holds both ACLS and PALS certifications.
She enjoys the independence that comes with working in a rural healthcare setting and values the opportunity to help make changes, grow professionally, and have a meaningful impact at KCHS.
Outside of work, Shelby enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and their two dogs. Much of their time is spent caring for cows and horses. In warmer months, she enjoys fishing and golfing, while the colder months are often spent hunting.
