Fighting COVID-19
We come to you today with concerns about our increasing rates of COVID-19 infections. We are reaching to you to ask for your help in slowing the spread of COVID-19. All of us must work together in the community to achieve the goal of keeping all of us safe and healthy.
Our goals
- We want our kids in school.
- We want our business to stay open.
- We want everyone to stay healthy and safe.
Working together to slow the spread of COVID-19
We know that people are going to get sick. There are, however, several things that we can all do to limit the spread of COVID-19 and drastically reduce its severity. Here are key points to remember and responsibilities we all share in limiting the spread of COVID-19.
- If you are ill, stay home and isolate. Symptoms like the flu, loss of tase and smell are typical.
- If you have been tested, stay home and quarantine. Even if you do not show symptoms, stay home and stay home with your family.
- If you test positive for COVID-19 or if a family member has tested positive everyone in the home needs to stay home for 14 days.
- Wear your masks properly. Cover your nose and mouth otherwise it does no good. If you are using reusable masks, wash them. If you are using disposable ones only wear them for a day.
- Social distance. Stay 6 feet apart. If you are carpooling, wear a mask.
- Hand hygiene. Wash your hands. Sanitize and wash your hands properly.
- If you own a business. Please require a mask.
- Properly prepare for the holidays. This year, please stay with your immediate family. Large group gatherings will spike the spread of covid-19 and business and schools will close.
Decisions made at KCHS
We will monitor changes in the community on a weekly basis and reevaluate these decisions.
- Temporarily restrict visitors and outside agencies to decrease the spread.
- Discontinue wellness visits and regular checkups.
- Urgent care patients will continue to be admitted.
We ask for your help again in slowing the spread of COVID-19. KCHS staff is always ready to help, but the toll of COVID-19 has exhausted the staff. Placing these restrictions and being responsible in supporting the health of the community is vital. Help slow the spread so when the time comes that your family is affected by COVID-19 our facilities will not be overwhelmed.
