Trained Staff with State of the Art Equipment

State of the Art Equipment & Dedicated Staff

KCHS has a full-service laboratory with state of the art equipment. It is staffed with dedicated laboratory professionals performing the roles of Medical Lab Scientists (MLS), Medical Lab Technicians (MLT), and Phlebotomists. They must be accurate, reliable, have an interest in science, and be able to recognize their responsibility for human lives 24/7. A variety of laboratory tests can be done at KCHS including blood banking and transfusions. Other more complicated tests are sent to Regional Pathology Services / UNMC in Omaha and CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

EKG (electrocardiograms) are also performed by the laboratory technicians.

The practice of modern medicine would be impossible without the tests performed in the clinical laboratory. A medical team of technologists and technicians work together to determine the presence, extent, or absence of disease and provide data needed to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment.

Hours of Operation:
Laboratory hours are Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Saturday 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
After hours Lab Techs are on call as needed by our medical providers.

For more information on what services the KCHS lab can offer please call 308-832-3400.
