Community Health Needs Assessment

A Community Health Needs Assessment is an assessment that identifies health needs and issues through data collection and analysis.  In other words – what is our community in need of and how can Kearney County Health Services assist in obtaining those services or resources.  The Community Health Assessment was developed by a planning committee that included participation from approximately 20 Kearney County Stakeholders in conjunction with Two Rivers Public Health Department.  The report documents the participant’s observations and insights.  The data is then analyzed to determine potential community engagement projects.

The most recent Community Health Needs Assessment is available for viewing here:

The Importance of Rural Healthcare

Hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare entities are vital to rural communities. They provide residents of those communities with much needed healthcare options without the need to travel long distances. Staffing for healthcare can come from many avenues – one being homegrown talent. Check out the video featuring Minden natives, Dr. John (Andy) Craig and Dr. Cade Craig, discussing their start in the KHOP program and where they are now!
